The book's premise is simple yet profound - treat yourself like you matter by paying yourself first. Rennie explained that this means setting aside 10% of your income to invest, allowing your money to work for you instead of you working for the money. Rennie's personal experience of setting aside $500 a month for three years, through strategic investments and borrowing more money, Rennie and his wife were able to acquire 47 more units in five years, reaching a total of 50 rental units and enough income to choose whether to work or not.
